Well after a malfunction that goofed everything up. Now I got to redo this blog thing.

The Nine Noble Virtues of Asatru

COURAGE

By facing Life's struggles with courage, we constantly extend our capabilities. Without courage, nothing else can be done! Do you find yourself hesitating? What is it you are afraid of? Go conquer it.

TRUTH

Blind faith has no place in Asatru. No pie-in-the-sky; we must act in this world as we see it and as it really is rather than calmly wait for the next. Do you dodge what you know is truth? Are you lying to yourself or others? Get it over with and be proud, or at least be relieved.

HONOR

We must be true to what we are, and we insist on acting with nobility rather than baseness. Our standards must be banners held high in our hearts. Do your actions follow true to your words? Do what you say and what you mean.

FIDELITY

We stand true to our faith and our values. Loyalty is the basis for all enduring human activity, and we hold it in the highest esteem. Are you being honest with yourself? Does your heart agree with your words and actions? Remember who you are.

HOSPITALITY

The isolation and loneliness of modern life is not necessary. The willingness to share what one has with one's fellows, especially travelers, is a vital part of our way of life. Is your house ready for guests? When guests leave your home, what will their impression of you be?

DISCIPLINE

We hold to the discipline necessary to fulfill our purpose. We stand willing to exercise the self-control and steadfastness necessary in these difficult times. Are you taking control of what you can change for the better? Are you letting yourself get distracted from your goals?

INDUSTRIOUSNESS

Let us dare to be all that we can be! Let us take risks and taste the richness of life. Passivity is for sheep. We refuse to be mere spectators in life. Are you doing something productive that will help you later? Are you wasting your time?

SELF-RELIANCE

We depend on our own strength and character to achieve our goals. We seek only the freedom necessary to our quest, whatever it may be. Do others support you? Do you contribute to your well being? Take care of yourself; no one else will do it for you, at least not for long.

PERSEVERANCE

We hold to our path until its completion and are not ashamed to be strong. The cult of the anti-hero will find no support in us, and the Gods we follow are not for the weak. Are you giving up? Have you grown stale? Keep moving forward, ever towards the horizon. It does get better.
